Things to consider when booking an appointment in the winter
Every change in season can influence the outcome of your listing photography appointment. Winter is here, so what are some of the specific considerations for this season?
Seasonal Photo Appointment Tips
While grass is growing more slowly this time of year, it is still important to make sure that it is trimmed before the appointment. Removing lingering leaves, clearing out dead annuals, pruning shrubs, cleaning out gutters, and general lawn cleanup are also still important steps to complete before your appointment. If desired, we can spruce up the yard to look it's summer best using Landscaping Corrections. A photo or two edited in this way is a great way to separate your listing from the winter-listing crowd.
The other primary concern is the timing of your appointment. Because we have less daylight hours and an overall lower level of light throughout the day, we have a narrower window in which we can complete appointments. While we use a flash while photographing and brighten up the photos during the editing process, it is especially important this time of year to have window coverings open, make sure all available lights are on, and to expect outdoor photos to have slightly longer shadows than at other times of the year.
